University Council extends the suspension of in-person activities until December 31st

The University Council of Ufes approved (by unanimous consent), in a session held last Thursday (27th), the Resolution n. 28/2020, which extends the deadline for suspension of in-person activities at Ufes until December 31st, 2020.
This decision changes the deadline established in the 1st article of Resolution n. 23/2020, which regulates the reorganization of administrative/academic activities and events at Ufes, as a preventive measure against Covid-19.This document foresaw the suspension of in-person activities at Ufes until August 31st.
Therefore, the return of teaching activities in undergraduate courses and the continuity of teaching activities in graduate courses will occur though the Emergency and Temporary Remote Learning (EARTE, in Portuguese), following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Brazilian Ministry of Health, for adoption of measures of social distancing, as ways to decrease the dissemination of Covid-19; The guidelines of the Federal Government described in Ordinance n. 544/2020, from the Brazilian Ministry of Education, which authorizes federal universities to use digital technologies to replace in-person classes, for the duration of the pandemic of the new coronavirus; And Bill n. 934/2020, which defines exceptional rules for the academic year in higher education, in relation to the measures to fight Covid-19.
