The University Council of UFES, in a session that took place this Monday (6th), decided to keep its proposal for reorganization of administrative and academic activities, by extending the period of suspension of in-person teaching activities at UFES until April 30th, as a preventive measure against the new coronavirus.

This decision followed the ordinance published by the State Government last Saturday (4th), which extended the suspension of educational activities in Espirito Santo until April 30th.

Therefore, in-person classes (undergraduate and graduate), in-person activities of e-learning courses, as well as in-person events (graduations, lectures, seminars, theater plays, movie sessions, etc.) are suspended.

In-person meetings are also suspended, including College Boards, Department Councils, Departments and Chambers, but virtual meetings are advised; the authorization to travel and the provision of funding to travel for staff members (teaching and administrative) as well as students, in relation to trips abroad and local ones; and the activities at the Childcare Center (Criarte) are also suspended.

The period of suspension may be extended, considering the guidelines of the Brazilian Ministry of Health and Health Departments at the state and municipal levels, as well as decisions of state and municipal governments.

The measures discussed during the session, which change the Resolution n. 04/2020, signed on March 18th, will be published Tuesday (7th) and will also guide professors in relation to the activities they may propose to their students in this period, remotely, without exposing the academic community to risks.
